More news about Fundraising and Sponsorship...

Having talked with my group about getting discounts with the posters, flyers etc, we also thought Moo cards would be great to give out at the exhibition as it would promote ourselves after the exhibition had finished.

Therefore, I contacted Moo to see if we could get a discount if 10 of us brought there cards to give out at the exhibition. Here is the email that I sent them...

Dear Madam or Sir,

I am a Photography student in my second year at the University of Portsmouth. For our Level 2 Brief, we are required to create a piece of photographic work which explores the photographic representation of territories. We are also required to work in groups and find a venue to display our work in, in which we have found The Round Tower in Old Portsmouth to do this. We are in a group of 10 people and are advertising our exhibition through posters and flyers. However, we would also like to promote ourselves at the exhibition through moo cards. To help with the cost of doing this, we were wondering whether you could create a discount for 10 people who would like to create moo cards for our exhibition and for general use. If you would like to know more about us and our exhibition, please let me know. Many Thanks, Lauren Whatling.
Here is the reply that I got from Moo...

Dear Lauren,

Thank you for getting in touch with the MOO Team.

It's great that you would like to use MOO products to help fundraise for such a good cause.

We receive regular charity requests and rather than just giving away products to a few;

we try to help as many as possible with a discount.

We would be happy to support your particular initiative by giving you a discount on your order.

Here is a promocode for 10% off your order (be careful - it will only work on one order).

It would also be great to hear how you get on and see some photos of the cards in action - we
always love seeing our stuff out in the wild.

You can also add photos to our Flickr pool - who knows - it might help get you some more sponsorship!

Wishing you lots of luck.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have further questions.

Best Regards,

I also emailed the Coop about Sponsoring our exhibition and this is what they replied with...

Dear Ms Whatling

Thank you for contacting the Co-operative Careline regarding a donation from your local store for your exhibition.

Unfortunately, I am unable to authorise this for you. On your next visit, if you provide a written request to the Duty Manager, they will be able to give you a decision.

Thank you once again for your email, and if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely
Therefore I have written them a lovely letter describing our exhibition and why we need a donation :)
